1943
The origin of the company goes back to the 19th century to Gebr. Bing AG Nürnberg, a factory for sheet metal products. After the company was purchased by Petzold AG Prague/Vienna, the company name from 1943 was C. T. Petzold AG, Stanz- und Emaillierwerke AG, Grünhain.
From 1945
After the end of the Second World War, the company was affiliated with Wismut AG, thus establishing electric motor production for mining equipment at the present site.
March 1, 1951
On March 1, 1951, VEB Elektromotorenwerk Grünhain was founded and from then on belonged to the state-owned VEM group of companies. The plant had its customers practically on its doorstep: manufacturers of washing machines – such as the washing appliance factory in Schwarzenberg – sewing machines, lawn mowers, printing presses and stone crushing plants relied on the quality and reliability of Grünhain motors.

2016
Since 2016, the company’s own subsidiary EMGR EAD with its production site in Gabrovo/Bulgaria has supplemented the global activities in drive technology. The company specializes in brake motors for the local market there.
